First Holy Communion

St Francis of Assisi, Paddington
Saturday 22nd June 2019, 5:30pm

The sacrament of First Holy Communion is a very important moment in the life of a Catholic, since this is the first time that we receive the Body and Blood of Jesus as part of the worshipping community of God’s family. Children making their First Holy Communion should be in Year 3 or above in school and need to have celebrated First Reconciliation prior to their First Holy Communion.

In order to help your child understand the significance of this occasion, it is, of course, necessary for them to complete a period of preparation and formation. If your child attends St Francis of Assisi Regional Primary School, the preparation is undertaken at the school. If this is not the case, it will be necessary for your child to undertake a formation programme with the Parish. This programme is run in partnership with parents/guardians and the details of this are provided at our Information Session. Please note, completion of this programme is compulsory for all candidates.
